What are robots?

This question is frequently asked between people and they have those old thoughts that robots are that humanoid thing. But this was before. Robots are virtual or mechanical artificial agent, which guided by a computer or a processor/controller.

It's powered by batteries/power suppliers. It can be movedbymotors and sense by sensors. And the coolest thing that we build them there's no robots yet that can build its own robots. Robots could be an autonomous or fixed. Autonomous are the robots that can move ,means they have wheels so they are able to change their place but fixed are the robots that can’t move , means can’t change their place. Robots now days are advanced and well developed so large companies like cars manufacturing companies mostly use robots. And the armies use robots as well like in discovering a suspected place so they can let the robot do the job instead of a solider/human.

How can robots respond or do some action?

Robots take their orders from the programs we wrote. A program is a list of orders and instructions we write then we send them to the robot to do its function. As I said we can store this program on a computer, some robots use a computer/laptop to take their instructions.

And we can store them on a controller because some robots have a controller and some of them have a computer/laptop on top of them.

Robots now a days can be used by any age it doesn’t matter how old are you and it doesn't need to be an expert in programming and computing to use them ,
because there's some robots like Lego NXT Mindstorm are designed for people from age 8 – 15.

And I believe that robots in the next 20/30 years would change the world. So we might have robots in everywhere...
